Superior Diesel, Inc. was established as a Corporation in the State of South Carolina in 1967. We currently employ 38 persons. Eight of which are Technicians in our Engine Overhaul Shop and six of which are Technicians employed in our Fuel Injection and Governor Shop. The balance of our personnel are involved in Parts, Sales, and Administration.
Our facility, located at 6881 Bulldog Drive, North Charleston, has 11,050 square feet dedicated solely to diesel engine repair.
We are actively involved in Shipboard and In-shop overhauls of Marine Diesel Engines. We work as a Sub-Contractor for all Major Ship Repair Contractors in the Charleston area.
We routinely overhaul all Manufacturers of Diesel Engines, Marine Transmissions, Hydraulic, Electronic and Mechanical Governors, and all types of Fuel Injection Components.
We have successfully performed repair work on vessels owned by the US Navy, US Army, Military Sealift Command, NOAA, The US Coast Guard and numerous Commercial Marine Components.
We strive to maintain the latest Technical Information and Special Tooling required to accomplish work in accordance with the most current Manufacturer's requirements. We have personnel who are factory trained and certified on most brands of diesel engines.
We have established a Quality Control and Inspection Program which complies with MIL-I-45208. All gauges and instruments are calibrated by a certified facility to the requirements of MIL-I-45208.
